I actually avoided Dublin the first couple of times I went to Ireland. I've been to Ireland every year since 2012 (except 2020) and a couple of times before that, and Dublin was just a place to pass through - unless it was St Patrick' Day. In 2018, when we took my parents over to see my beloved Ireland, that is when I started to appreciate Dublin as a destination on its own.
